Treasurer of CHAMP: Ke’alohi Young

Aloha everyone! My name is Ke’alohi Young and I’m the treasurer of CHAMP. As cancer has had a big impact on my family, I’ve always wanted to make sure others could avoid the tragic experiences cancer causes not only patients, but their families as well. Knowing how education on the many ways cancer can present is necessary for the communities of Hawai’i to thrive has driven my interest in cancer research and pediatric oncology. Being passionate about making sure the keiki of Hawai’i stay healthy has also led me to be a volunteer at Kapiolani Medical Center for Women and Children, an amazing experience to see the inner workings of healthcare. To me, health equity means the even distribution of health resources so that everyone has access to living a long, healthy life. Outside of school and the hospital, I enjoy playing tennis and coaching the youth, as well as spending time with friends and family. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about cancer health education, volunteering, or would just like to chat!
